Central Kootenays

Revelstoke - Powder Capital

Revelstoke is synonymous with major-league recreation.  Anyone headed to the top of the mountain?  Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing or Mica Heliskiing can help get you there.  If you prefer a gondola, Revelstoke Mountain Resort is open for business.  Fancy snowmobiling instead?  With 50 feet of average annual snowfall, Revelstoke is ready for you.

In town, heritage houses with their colourful metal roofs built for the sliding snow await to charm.  The pleasurable downtown core offers tasty treats, nifty shopping & the financial infrastructure you need to get the job done.  The Revelstoke Railway Museum explores the city’s history while the magnificent Glacier National Park sits just down the road.

Whether whitewater rafting along the Illecillewaet River, climbing the nearby Selkirk & Monashee Mountains or cycling the trails of Mount MacPherson, Revelstoke is impressive with its quality outdoor challenges.   A great aquatic centre, clean environment & spas to help you further unwind; the only question is, what more could one want?

Revelstoke is about a 6-hour drive from Vancouver & 4.5 hour drive from Calgary.  Keep in mind when travelling that the Trans Canada Highway can experience some severe weather conditions during winter.  Ensure you have proper tires for your trip.  If you're flying into the area, Kelowna's & Kamloops' airports are about a 2+ hour drive from Revelstoke.

Additional information on Revelstoke is at Wikipedia.  Enjoy the mountain views!
