Central Kootenays

Nelson - Jewel Of The Kootenays

Wow.  That’s all you can say upon driving into Nelson.  There are fewer views prettier than that of the bridge spanning Kootenay Lake with the Purcell Mountains standing tall behind.  Once you arrive in town, the heritage feel of the downtown will make you feel glad you did.  Fun shopping, great restaurants & an optimistic vibe that’s tangible; Nelson is a joy to discover & explore.

Nelson is also known as a thriving arts community.  The Kootenay School of the Arts offers quality training for artisans.  The gorgeous setting alone is enough to inspire any painter, poet or musician.  This community is about creativity, so allow the atmosphere to draw out the best in you.

If you need a break, you can hit the beach & go for a swim.  Splendid hiking & cycling trails abound.  When the snow falls, Whitewater Winter Resort is waiting.  The Kokanee Glacier & Kootenay Lake makes the setting at the Granite Pointe Golf Course priceless.  What more could one wish?  If you’re fortunate enough to live or have visited Nelson, you’re a lucky person indeed.
