Central Kootenays

Kaslo - Big Mountains, Small Village

Kaslo, set on picturesque Kootenay Lake, has pristine beach settings, fun fishing & wild waterskiing, to mention just a few of the recreation activities available.  Hiking, cycling & rock climbing opportunities are nearby in Kokanee Glacier Park, also home to many of the area’s wildlife, such as grizzly bears, elk, deer & bald eagles.

Kaslo also hosts many fun festivals.  In the summer, the Kaslo Jazz Fest entertains fans along the shores of Kootenay Lake, with the stage actually floating on the water!  The winter offers the Forest Festival, with horse-drawn sleighs, snowshoe races & great local food.  History buffs may want to visit the City Hall & SS Moyie Sternwheeler, which are 2 National Canadian Heritage Sites.

A lovely, quaint village amidst a picture postcard setting, Kaslo serves guests in a friendly environment with great natural amenities nearby.  The Ainsworth Hot Springs is definitely one of those nearby drives worth a visit.  Relaxation awaits!

Additional information on Kaslo is at Wikipedia.  Enjoy Kootenay Lake!
